Independence Day

Fourth of July!
We went to the parade in Kernersville in the morning.
We had never been.
It was a fun small-town parade.

It was a perfect summer morning.
Not too hot.

Pre-show entertainment:
B showing off his ninja warrior skills

The parade was basically a big, long car show.
With a little bit of candy thrown out.
Not many floats.

One of the more...interesting entries.

In the afternoon, we went up the park for a little while.
We played bocce, catch with a softball (which I miss so much!),
threw a football around.

And then the kids insisted we play "Cucumber ball"
with some cucumbers we were given that were going bad.

Can you see the cucumber splattering?

I wanted to go watch a big fireworks show that night.
Andrew preferred to stay home and light our own.
We put it to a vote with the kids.
They wanted to stay home, too.
(party poopers!)
But it WAS fun and relaxing.

Someone misses taking dance classes!

We love this country. We are grateful for our freedoms. We are very thankful to everyone who has sacrificed and continues to sacrifice to protect those freedoms.
