We stopped outside of Page, AZ to hike at Water Holes Canyon. As is the theme with many of our outdoor adventures this summer, it was HOT. :) But it was also beautiful and I loved it. One member of the family did not. See if you can guess from the pics.
Beautiful red rocks as far as the eye can see.
Again, I would love to go back when we're not roasting.
While in Utah,
Cal found his Uncle Drew.
Best little cuddle bug.
Grandma and Grandpa took us to Top Golf.
Andrew had been once for work,
but no one else from our family had gone.
It was awesome!
It's a fun version of golf mixed with bowling.
Top Golf-ers.
We drove down to Provo for a day.
Had fun at BYU.
This good-lookin bunch did baptisms at the Provo Temple.
I was hoping my kids could see the City Center Temple,
but it was closed that day.
Caroline and I did some hiking while they were in the temple.
It wasn't even hot! Yay!
Later that afternoon,
we hired a guide to take B and C climbing outdoors
at Provo Rock Canyon.
While they spend multiple hours each week
climbing in the gym, they had never tried outdoors before.

Their guide was great and they had a fantastic time!
Here are a few video clips.
They are pretty amazing climbers.
Fun to see them in their element.
Andrew went with the climbers.
Whit and I did some shopping and took our time
walking through BYU's Museum of Art.
It was so fun to be with my artistic daughter
and not feel like we were holding up any
other members of our family who were bored.
We loved it.
Then we met my friend, Rachel,
and her kids for a little hike.
She was one of my YW back when we lived in Tucson.
We've kept in touch through facebook over the years.
It was so fun to see her as a grown woman!
We hiked in the same spot where B and C were climbing,
so we all met up at the end.
We went out to Cafe Rio for dinner afterward.
In the small-Mormon-world,
it turns out Rachel is cousins with Taylor,
who was in our ward when we first moved to NC.
She is living in Utah now and met us for dinner, too.
So fun.
Barb volunteers at the conference center, giving tours.
One afternoon, we headed downtown so
she could give us the official tour.
She's an amazing tour guide!
Lots of musicians on Andrew's side of the fam.
Loved listening to them jam out together.
On another day, the Hallstroms invited us to do
an escape room with them.
We solved the puzzle with just a few minutes to spare. Yay!
I met Anna for breakfast one morning.
Love catching up with old friends.
(Not that we're old...)
A visit to Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa.
Grandpa's health is going downhill, which is sad to see.
He's on oxygen full time now.
He just started that and is having a hard time getting
used to all those tubes.
Glad we could spend some time with them.
Just hanging out.
We had the sacred experience of being with
Angie and Forrest in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple
when Forrest went through for Wyatt's endowment.
Grateful to know that families are forever.
Another night, we drove down to Tony and Cindy's.
This was the one night when everyone was there.
Grandma got all the guys orange bandannas and MADE
all of the girls orange headbands.
Orange is Wyatt's favorite color, so we took this pic in his honor.
It's hard to not have him there, hanging out and laughing
with Jack and Eli.
We went to the park and had a picnic and played tennis.
Lots of fun.
Grandma made us a big Sunday dinner.
Yum!
We had a joint-birthday celebration for these two.
Barb bought Speak Out this summer, too. Ha!
More fun with Andrew's side of the fam to come...
Oh my gosh it's so fun to see all of these photos! Thanks for coming - thanks for sharing them!!!
